Hello! I’m Lee “Hoppy” Hopkins, the founder of Hoppy’s Mercantile. I grew up in the small town of Clearwater, Nebraska, where I was a farm boy with a deep love for the land and the rhythms of rural life. Farming and fishing were integral parts of my upbringing, and I cherish everything about my Nebraska roots.
At 18, I set out on my own, living first in Havre, Montana, before making my way to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I spent 38 fulfilling years working for Costco, where I learned the value of hard work and dedication. Throughout my life, I have always nurtured my passion for the great outdoors—fishing, camping, and connecting with nature are the activities that truly feed my soul.
Hoppy’s Mercantile is the culmination of my lifelong love for outdoor adventures and quality craftsmanship. I wanted to create a space where others who share these passions can find everything they need to enjoy the beauty of the natural world.
